More than 5,300 years have passed since Ötzi the Ice Man died on the Hauslabjoch glacier. And in the meantime a lot has happened. More than 80 museums tell the story of the Ice Man and while on holidays in Valles, it is worth taking a dip into South Tyrolean history.

The Gardens of the Trauttmansdorff Castle host a wealth of plants from all over the world, but also typical South Tyrolean landscapes are at display. Different paths meander up the hill through water and terraced gardens, lead into the garden of senses or to the Japanese garden, to the cacti or succulents hill or to the garden featuring Southern crops like vine or olive trees.
