The village of Valles in South Tyrol
The 600 inhabitants village of Valles is situated in a side valley of the Pusteria Valley in the Eastern part of South Tyrol. Surrounded by nothing but lush green pastures, spruce forests and mountain peaks. The village is connected to a network of well-built country roads and is about 8 km from the nearest greater village, Rio di Pusteria, which lies at the opening of the Pusteria Valley. This is also where you can find the nearest railway station. Bressanone, the nearest city, is about 18 km from Valles. Valles is part of the holiday area Gitschberg/Jochtal. The lifts of the Jochtal (near Valles) and Gitschberg (near Maranza) ski resorts bring you to the top even in summer
