South Tyrol’s cities
Bressanone, Brunico, Chiusa, Bolzano, Vipiteno, Glorenza, Merano: visiting the South Tyrol's cities and towns is a great experience both in the summer and the winter. South Tyrol's towns have kept all of their unique atmosphere over the centuries. Bressanone, Chiusa, Vipiteno and Brunico are only a few kilometres from your holiday resort in Valles.
Bolzano

South Tyrol's capital city is the place of encounter for North and South, for two cultural landscapes, a busy crossing point and the town where the German and Italian speaking areas meet. The Gothic cathedral, Walther's square, the arcades with their boutiques and bars, the museums and theatres are worth a visit all around the year.
Bressanone

The charming episcopal city of Bressanone is situated in the midst of vineyards and orchards. Here you will discover history at every turn: you'll be fascinated by Bressanone's old alleys and town houses, its arcades and bridges, its churches, the cathedral, and the cloister. Its unique Gothic frescoes and the former castle of the prince-bishop which today hosts the Diocesan and Crib museum, and the small museum of pharmacy which reveals more than 400 years of the history of pharmacy are also part of Bressanone's glamorous past.
Brunico

After its first appearance in a document in 1256, the city of Brunico was soon to become the economic centre of the Pusteria valley. The historic alley which leads through the old town and the renovated town houses form a grand shopping mall. This year, the fifth of Reinhold Messner's museum projects, the MMM Mountain People, will open in Brunico Castle. In the City Museum you can admire the works by famous late Medieval painter Michael Pacher.
Merano
A gem with the charme of bygone days and a city looking into the future. Merano is the embodiment of Alpine-Mediterranean zest for life: classical music concerts, the new designer spa and stunning art nouveau architecture have become the city's hallmarks. Centuries-old arcades invite you to go shopping while superb parks and promenades make you want to go for a relaxing walk.
