Principles of a healthy sauna
The sauna facilities in our spa and wellness centre are open daily from 1.00 pm to 7.00 pm. Please respect the most important principles in order to achieve the desired wellness effect.
- Allow at least 2 hours.
- Bring towels or a bathrobe for the rest periods.
- Bring your slippers in order to protect you from hot floors and to keep your feet warm.
- Remove all jewellery – metals become very hot.
- Avoid smoking at least two hours before the sauna session.
- Take a shower – not with cold water- before the sauna and dry yourself off. Dry skin promotes sweating.
- Only step into the sauna if your feet are warm. If necessary, take a warm foot bath before.
- While sweating, remove your slippers and take off your swimming suit.
- Put a towel on the sauna bench so that your whole body fits on it.
- For a short but intense sauna the sweating will be most effective on the middle or top bench. Please do not exceed 15 consecutive minutes.
- We recommend a maximum of three sauna sessions.
- If you wish to go to the sauna every day you should not do more than one session.
- Lie or sit still and converse as little as possible.
